People keep telling me that the world is made up of atoms and quarks, and things like that, when I know perfectly well that polka-dots are the building blocks of the universe.
Can you remember when the world was full of bright colors and candy, and your clothes had stripes and big red buttons, and you played dolls and dress-up and school and store because you were practicing to be a grown-up?
All it took to make magic was a sheet draped over a card table. It wasn’t always safe, and it wasn’t always innocent, but that’s where we had to be then to get to where we are today.
If only the world were as wonderful as we always dreamed it would be.
